Leighton Buzzard is a historic market town located on the River Ouzel, and it is situated approximately 11 miles southeast of the town of Milton Keynes and 12 miles northwest of the town of Dunstable. The South Ward is one of the four electoral wards in Leighton Buzzard, and it covers the southern part of the town.
The South Ward is bordered by the wards of Leighton Buzzard North, Linslade, and Cheddington to the north, east, and south, respectively. The ward has a population of around 7,000 people and covers an area of approximately 7 square kilometers.
Some notable landmarks in the South Ward include the Leighton Buzzard Railway, a heritage railway that runs through the town, and Rushmere Country Park, a large woodland area that lies to the east of the ward.
