About Hampton
Description of Hampton
Historically part of Middlesex County, the suburb of Hampton can now be found in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. It includes Hampton Court Palace. There are two train stations in Hampton, one of which is located just south of Hampton Court Bridge in East Molesey.
West of Hampton Wick and north of Kingston upon Thames, the borough of Hampton sits adjacent to Bushy Park on two sides. The Hampton Heated Open Air Pool is one of the few such pools in Greater London, and the city also boasts large stretches of public riverside. Residential islands, a park called St. Albans Riverside, and stately or decorative buildings like Garrick's House and the Temple to Shakespeare may be found along the river in the stretch above Molesey Lock, where there is also the Astoria Houseboat recording studio. To reach Molesey's main park and the Thames Path National Trail, you can take the ferry from Hampton. A View of the Thames River. The Hampton Water Treatment Works takes up a significant portion of the southwest section of the city, right on the Thames River. One-third of London's daily drinking water supply (about 650Ml/d) is produced at the facility, making it one of the greatest capacity water treatment facilities in Europe.
To the north, terraced residences predominate, while semi-detached properties dominate to the south. Many people living on the outskirts of London travel into the city each day for work. Central London and the surrounding counties are major employment hubs.
